”Lean principles are also being applied at UHS's George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. The addition includes two operating rooms and 12 recovery bays, which are being constructed while the facility remains open.  Through the collaboration of the team, including HKS, Inc., HITT Contracting, Inc., cerd partners, Dominion Mechanical, and Power Solutions, the original estimated construction time was cut in half and the project cost decreased by more than 15 percent.  Currently under construction, the project has no RFIs, injuries, or rework.“  Read rest of article here
